Devouring Raine Page 15
“Good morning,” I say to Dacotah who is sitting on the couch reading a book.
She looks up and smiles at me. “Morning. How’d you sleep?”
“Like the dead, you?”
She sets her book down and stands up to come toward me. “Excellent. Want some coffee?”
“Oh, I’d love some. Where’s Derek?”
She smiles lovingly. “He took off for work around five.”
“Jeez, have you been up all this time?”
“Me?” she giggles. “No, I’ve grown pretty used to his work ethic. He’s usually up around four and out the door by five, five-thirty.” She grabs a cup for my coffee and slides it over to me, then slides over some creamer. I pour some in and she’s ready with the pot. “How long do you think it will take you to get ready?” she asks as I blow across my coffee.
“Just for shopping?” She nods enthusiastically. “Probably forty minutes or so.”
“Yay,” she giggles. “I was told by Derek that we have a shopping list.”
“We?” I ask.
“Yup, apparently there is a cocktail reception tomorrow night, and the four of us are going.”
“Oh good lord.” I roll my eyes.
She laughs. “They’re not so bad, but at least I’ll have you to chat with.”
“There is that.” I take a sip of my coffee and we talk for just a couple more minutes before I slip back into the bedroom. After rummaging through my suitcase for something to wear, I land on a pair of cargo crops, along with a cami and finally a low cut t-shirt to go over it. I pair it with a pair of cage sandals and call it good. It’s just shopping, right?
When I come out of the bathroom about thirty minutes later, Dex is stirring on the bed. When I click off the light in the bathroom he wakes up. “Morning, sunshine,” I tell him and he smiles.
“Morning.” I lean over the bed and give him a gentle chaste kiss on the lips, but he wraps his arms around me and pulls me down on top of him.
“Hey now,” I tease and he kisses me again and again. I can feel his erection pressing into my hip. “You’re mean,” I giggle.
“I’m on vacation,” he says back before tugging gently on my shirt, pulling it down to expose the swell of my breasts.
“You are, and Cotah is waiting for me.”
I watch as he pouts, then licks and finally kisses against one of my bruises. “Why didn’t you wake me?” he asks sadly.
I run my fingers through his hair and his steel grey eyes meet mine. “Because you deserved to sleep in. You’ll have the condo to yourself once we leave. Derek’s gone to work.”
He mumbles incoherently before licking and kissing at my chest again.
“You’re so mean to me.” I laugh, then fist my hand in his hair, pulling his head up and kissing his lips. “I have to go.”
“Can you bring me my wallet, please?”
I kiss him again. “Absolutely.” Then I climb out of bed, grabbing his wallet off of the dresser near the door before returning. He’s sitting up, but I can tell he’s still very groggy. “You should go back to sleep,” I say as I hand him his wallet.
“I just might.” He rubs at his eyes before opening his wallet and handing me a black and silver credit card. “Have fun shopping.” He grins.
“Do I have a budget?” I ask to avoid arguing further about him buying me clothes.
He gives me a wicked little grin. “No.”
“Dex,” I scold.
“Sit,” he commands and I do, facing him. His hand cups my cheek. “There is nothing in this town, short of real estate, that you could buy that will make a dent in my finances.”
“Dex,” I argue.
“No, listen to me. I do not act like it, I do not spend money frivolously, and I certainly don’t flaunt it, but I am not poor, Raine. When I got the money from my parents, after getting sober, the first thing I did was invest it and I invested it wisely. I make more money on interest a month than I could ever possibly consider spending on monthly bills.”
“I had no idea,” I breathe, shocked.
He gives me a soft, genuine smile. “I would give you the world, if you’d let me.” His hand caresses my cheek and I lean into his touch.
“I don’t want the world, Dex. Only you.”
He kisses me then, warm and passionately. Desire ignites in my body and I want him, need him, but before I can get too lust crazy, he pulls back. “If you see it, you like it, you want it, buy it.”
“I’m not wired that way.”
“Think of it like this. If you were handed a massive bonus at work, all your bills were paid, what would you do with the money?”
“Put it in savings,” I giggle.
Dex laughs too. “A woman after my own heart. Okay, you found fifty thousand dollars on the street, what would you do with it?”
“Turn it in.”
He throws his head back laughing in a way I’ve never seen before. “You’re incorrigible, glowbug.”
I smile, “I get what you’re saying and I will do my best to spend your money.”
“Good.” He laughs. “Now leave me so I can sleep.”
I kiss him one more time before grabbing my purse, the Jimmy Choos he bought me in Nashville, and heading into the living room where Dacotah is waiting, bouncing excitedly.
“What’s with all the white formal dresses?” I ask Cotah as she throws another one over the door of the dressing room. “Oh never mind, I like this one.” I giggle and so does Cotah, the sound fading as she walks away from me.
I pull the dress off of the hanger and slip it over my head. I fasten the criss-cross halter around my neck and look at myself in the mirror.
The dress is white, knee length that’s tapered with several layers. Under my bust is a rhinestone band with silver, white and ice blue gemstones. The same pattern is repeated on the straps that wrap around my neck. “Cotah!” I holler.
“You don’t like it?” I hear her disappointment, then I open the door and step out into the open area.
“Nope,” I say with a cheeky grin on my face, her face falls. “I love it.”
I watch as her face lights up and she starts to clap excitedly. “Good, because it’s fucking gorgeous on you.” She gestures toward the three-way mirror at the end of the dressing rooms. I can see myself from here and I absolutely love it. I walk toward to the mirror, taking a closer look. I start playing around with my hair, pulling it up, pulling it to the side.
“I need to get my hair done so bad,” I mumble as I look at the fading colors.
I watch as Cotah blushes and smirks before turning away. “Cooootaaaahh…”
“What?” She stops, turns toward me and I glare at her. “Oh well fuck, you’re almost as good at that as Orion is…fine, fine, fine…we have an entire spa day for tomorrow. Massage, hair, nails, makeup, the whole nine yards.”
“You’re kidding me?”
She smiles and shakes her head. “It’s Orion’s tradition, anytime we have a fancy evening, I get a spa day. He says it’s my reward for putting up with being his arm candy for the night.” She giggles, but I can tell she really doesn’t mind being arm candy. “So I told him that it was only fair that I got to bring you with.”
I laugh. “Well then, hair problem solved.” She laughs and I return to my dressing room, and carefully remove the dress and return it to the hanger before getting dressed.
When I come out, dress in hand, she’s browsing through the racks. “See anything you like?” I ask.
She shrugs. “Not really. But there are a couple of other shops here that I like better.”
“Awesome.”
“But you need shoes first.” She smiles again and we’re off to the shoe department. It doesn’t take us long before we find a pair of shoes that match the blue in the dress perfectly. I nearly had a panic attack when I saw the signature red sole.
I tried to argue about it and Cotah assured me that it was fine, then told me that the dress was going to cost more than the shoes and I thou
ght I was going to have a heart attack.
In an ironic twist of Dex’s ability to know when I’m panicking, I got a text message from him.
Dex to Raine: I hope you’re having fun. I pray you’re spending money. I love you.
I scowl at my phone and somehow push aside my worries. That is until I get a total of over forty-six hundred dollars for one dress and one pair of shoes.
I’m a little sulky about it until we come to our next stop where Cotah drops nearly five grand on several different dresses, though they’re not formal by any means.
Finally we came to a store that was more Dacotah’s speed and style. She’s a very curvy and very sexy girl with a big chest and fabulous hips. When I told her it was my turn to throw her dresses she looked at me and said, “These boobs and these hips do not look good in white.” I laughed and went in search of something fun for her to wear.
It was around four-thirty when we returned to the condo with arms full of bags. Well, okay, Derek’s personal concierge had all our bags, but still, we pretty much overran the trolley with our load. After helping him sort through whose was what, we found a fresh vase of flowers and a note. I knew immediately that it wasn’t Dex’s writing because, well, it was legible.
Welcome home girls. We’re going out tonight. Be ready to go by six. Dex and I will be back to pick you up.
P.S. You’ll find your clothes for tonight laid out on your beds. No deviations and no arguments.
Cotah and I both look at each other and shrug. “What are they planning?” I ask, not expecting an answer.
She laughs. “If I know Orion, it’s extravagant.”
We both set off for our bedrooms to get ready. When I click open the door there is another fresh flower vase and a card. I open the card.
My Dearest Glowbug,
I hope you enjoyed your day. I missed you.
I love you.
See you soon,
D
My heart melts just a little as I clutch his sweet note to my chest and smell the flowers before walking to the bed to see what’s laid out for me to wear.
Laid out on the bed is an electric blue, front zip corset that is accented throughout with rhinestones. It’s very long-waisted so I’m surprised when I notice the jeans laid out underneath it. They’re a dark blue, worn wash flare legged style. Sitting next to those is an electric blue thong and a big, boot sized shoe box. I lift the lid and underneath the tissue paper is a pair of white and blue striped knee-high socks and under those are a pair of chunk heeled, platform knee high boots in black. They’re sexy as shit just sitting in the box. Knowing that he picked this outfit out for me to wear for him tonight makes me smile.
I head into the bathroom to rinse off only to find the counter is now laden with makeup. New makeup for that matter. Various shades of blues, pinks and purples. I giggle. I shouldn’t be this giddy about what I’m seeing laid out before me, but I am. There is something Dominant about all of this and I can’t help but enjoy it. The last thing that I notice is hanging on the jewelry stand. It’s a chainmail style choker with a light blue raindrop hanging down the front. I smile at it before jumping into the shower.
“Raine?”
“In the bathroom, Cotah,” I holler back.
“Oh thank god, can you…whoa, look at you.” She smiles wide and our eyes meet in the mirror. She’s standing there holding a corset, a purple one - similar to mine, against her chest. “Aww see, he got you a zip up one. I need your help.” She giggles a little.
I can’t help but laugh too. She’s so cute. I turn around to face her and she turns around for me. “I don’t know how he ever expected me to do this by myself,” she chortles. “But he’s almost always here to help me.”
“This is gorgeous,” I tell her as I start to fasten her up.
“I love yours. That color really brings out your eyes.”
I get to the top three buttons. “Ready?” I ask. I can already tell this is going to be a snug fit.
She takes a deep breath. “Yup.”
I tug and connect the first, then repeat for the second, though I have to tug a little harder, then finally the last one hooks easily. “You good?” I let go.
She breathes in. “Yup, I’m good now.” She does a little fluffing on the front side and her breasts are pushed up high. She turns around.
“Dang girl, you look hot,” I tell her and she blushes.
“You look pretty hot yourself.” She looks me up and down. “Are you about ready? It’s ten ‘til six and Orion is never late,” She tells me.
“Yup, just need to put this on and I’m good to go.” I hold up the necklace.
“That’s really pretty. Here, let me help you. It’s hardly a corset, but…” She smiles and I turn around, handing her the necklace as I go and she wraps it around my neck, clasping it in the back. “Perfect. He’s pretty good at dressing you up.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Derek helped.”
She giggles. “Yeah, he has some very specific tastes when it comes to clothing. He knows what he likes. I get excited when I get to go shopping for myself. Though ninety percent of what I buy doesn’t get worn very much. Part of our relationship is that he chooses what I wear for the day. Though lucky for me, he likes me in sundresses.”
“That doesn’t bother you?” I ask her.
She smiles wide. “Not at all. In fact, it makes me feel important to him. The fact that before he leaves for work, he takes time to pick out something for me to wear. If he leaves for a few days on business, he decides what I wear before he leaves. He says it makes it easier to fantasize about me being at home waiting for him.” She blushes.
“I never thought of it that way.”
Just then, off in the distance, we hear the elevator chime as it arrives into the condo.
“Oh, we better go,” she says with a smile. “I saved the corset for last.” She winks at me and I turn out the bathroom light, I grab my ID, Dex’s credit card and some cash, sliding it into my pocket along with my cell phone in the other pocket. “Oh, leave that here.” She points to my phone.
“Why?” I raise an eyebrow.
“Derek hates them when he takes me out or we go out at all.”
“But I like to take pictures,” I tell her.
“Don’t worry, he has his and I’m sure Dex has his.” She winks. Deciding not to argue about it, I put my phone back on the dresser.
“Little one?” I hear Derek call just as we round the corner toward the living room. Cotah is out front and I follow behind her as she steps into Derek’s line of sight. “There’s my girl,” he says with a wide smile. “Look at you.” He gives her a knowing smirk that tells me he set up the corset gig on purpose.
“Holy crap,” my very not so elegant fiancé declares when he gets an eye full of me. I blush. He meets me half way and wraps his arms around me. “You look stunning,” he whispers in my ear.
Both men are wearing black button up shirts, open at the chest, with black jeans. Derek’s is tucked in and Dex has his out. He tucks nothing in.
“So where are we going?” I ask.
I am met with looks from both Dex and Derek. “It’s a surprise,” Dex whispers and a shiver runs up my spine. “But first, dinner.” He chuckles before releasing me. He offers me his arm and I take it.
“Ready?” Derek asks and Cotah and I both nod with excitement as they escort us to the elevator and down into the lobby. We walk straight through the doors and sitting there, waiting patiently, is a massive hummer sized limo.
“Holy crap,” I say, repeating Dex’s words from earlier. Both he and Derek chuckle. Derek helps Cotah inside and then immediately follows behind her. Dex, finding his gentlemanly skills, helps me up as well.
We spent the evening dining on a five course meal at Twist, an elegant restaurant inside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. When we finished the meal, we actually had to go down in order to go back up to the Mandarin Bar. I was told it was a Las Vegas Exclusive bar, and while I wasn’t able to
look at the drink menu, I could tell it wasn’t cheap. Couple that with the fact that Dex was not the only celebrity in the bar that night. For being a Tuesday night in Vegas, it sure brought out a few of Hollywood’s A-listers.
Dex, ever the gentlemen, introduced me to anyone that came over to chat with him. I think some of it even surprised him when so many of the celebrities he admired himself, recognized him for who he was. Now he’s no Talon by any means, but he isn’t a bump on a log in Hollywood either. I was pleasantly surprised when I was treated with the same respect, like I was one of them and not some poor little assistant from Bold International.
It gave me a high unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. I did my best to curb my fangirl moments, but sometimes Dex had to keep me in line by stopping me from bouncing.
Derek and Dacotah got their fair share of attention too. I learned throughout the night that Derek, though an international businessman, has several ties in Hollywood. Not to mention the fact that he is part owner of several hotels here in Vegas. Which explains his business necessities.
I was a little disappointed when we left, the night was still young by Vegas standards, but the guys had more in store for us. Including my first trip into a casino. Dex and Derek were both determined to capitalize on beginner’s luck and they certainly did when we hit a Craps table. Don’t ask me how in the hell to play the game, but I freaked out when I was told that one of Dex’s bets was roughly a hundred grand. Lucky for me, my lucky blow on the dice meant that he won.
We didn’t stay in the casino for long and then we were headed back up to the condo.
When we arrive, I watch Dacotah switch from happy fun to submissive. “Little one?”
“Yes, Master.”
